SAN JOSE, Calif., May 3, 2005Jungo Software Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of Residential, SOHO and SMB gateway software expanded its offering by introducing OpenSMB - the industry's only complete software platform for the development of small and medium business gateways. The newly introduced software platform is targeted at OEMs and ODMs developing converged voice, data and security business networking devices.

OpenSMB is available immediately for the creation of advanced SMB networking devices such as business FW/VPN routers, converged voice/data gateways, wireless APs, office-in-a-box devices and security appliances. OpenSMB includes the software technologies, development environment and tools, documentation, training and support as well as integration with leading reference boards such as Intel's IXP family, Broadcom, Conexant, Infineon and others. OEMs and ODMs using Jungo's field proven OpenSMB will be able to quickly bring to market a wide range of differentiated networking devices that adhere the highest industry standards.

The solution integrates an embedded Linux distribution, advanced security applications (SPI Firewall, VPN), carrier grade multiprotocol VoIP signaling (H.323, SIP and MGCP), QoS, load balancing, URL filtering, anti virus, anti spam and remote and local management - all in a single-source solution. As a result, manufacturers can concentrate on developing product-differentiating features and bring their devices to market faster.

In-Stat/MDR forecasts the Business Gateway market has the potential to dominate the $16.6 billion SME equipment market in 2008, in the process, turning the networking equipment industry upside down stated Keith Nissen, senior networking analyst at In-Stat/MDR. "Jungo's OpenSMB integrates the features and functionality required by OEMs developing SMB gateways including VoIP, Enterprise level security, QoS and remote management".

"OEMs using OpenSMB can start their development with a production ready and field proven software platform running on a choice of reference designs and focus only on adding their core technologies", said Yaal Eshel, Jungo's Director of Marketing. "This approach significantly reduces time to market, product development costs and risk"

OpenSMB Technical highlights: The OpenSMB product line is comprised of production ready firmware images for specific reference designs and the sources and tools required for further development. An extensive set of pre integrated modules and applications can be selectively incorporated, enabling the rapid creation of a wide range of networking devices.

OpenSMB includes corporate level certifiable SPI firewall, certified VPN with hardware acceleration supporting up to 100 simultaneous tunnels, carrier grade, multi-protocol VoIP supporting 24 analog voice ports, advanced QoS mechanism with TOS/Diffserv marking according to VLAN, MAC/IP/Port and applications, traffic shaping, enterprise level hosted security services, advanced WLAN security and embedded office servers for office-in-a-box appliances.
